The Wild Yellow Season is here

The Wild Yellow Season is here to remind us of the continuing gifts of Nature in this chaos. Walking out alone yesterday and staying awake to what is around me, reminds me that our world is still sacred.

People before me, and luckily there are still some of us, related to the flowers with affection. We look forward to the return of these small, fleeting, faithful visitors of Spring. Looking closely at any one of them opens a universe, symmetrical, mysterious and really quite awesome.

Today I found Furze. There were many uses for it. from bedding to food for animals and a restorer of hope for humans.
Lesser Celandine, starlike on the ground, was used for ointment and astringent. It is edible and was said to focus the mind.
Cowslip was used as a sedative, in wine and is said to calm restlessness, settle you and brings joy in times of stress.
Daffodill's yellow brightens the whole world. It is said to eliminate negative emotions in times of transition.
Dandelion is used as a liver tonic, is a great friend to the bees and is said to loosen up our rigidity.
Daisy brings us back to Innocence and a child's eye view of things.
Primrose brings joy to the heart in part because it is one of our first Spring visitors.
These humble, wild, yellow friends help us to focus the mind and find our place in the company of life's ordinary gifts
